“The Riddle of the Sphinx”
In Greek mythology, to solve the riddle of the Sphinx was equivalent to pulling the sword from the stone. All travelers who passed by the Sphinx was asked the question.
“What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?”
Oedipus answered the riddle and the Sphinx destroyed herself. Adding to Oedipus’ clios and granting him power and respect throughout the land.
